My second collaborative album with my dear friend, Mexican classical guitarist Morgan Szymanski, came out on 18 July 2025 on Blackford Hill.
The album explores the environmental crisis in Morgan’s hometown of Valle de Bravo, Mexico by fusing Morgan’s beautiful guitar playing with field recordings of the local flora and fauna.
The music evolved from a soundtrack Morgan and I produced for the documentary film El Dragón de los Bosques de Niebla (The Dragon of the Mist Forest). The documentary shines a light on the ecocide that’s happening in Valle de Bravo. Overdevelopment is destroying the forests that are home to Abronias, beautiful small reptiles native to the region and the ‘dragons’ of the film’s title.
